Economist & data engineer.
I build economic models and data systems for policy and business. Based in Paris.
I'm an economist born and raised in Mexicali, Mexico, based in France for the last five years, currently in Paris. During the day I work on international trade and policy at the OECD, where I lead research on export performance and trade policy uncertainty.
At a deeper level, I obsess over economic theory and how sound policy design can improve outcomes. Topics like macroeconomics, firm dynamics, heterogeneous agents, and equilibrium selection strongly influence my work. I believe in asking big questions, even when they're hard to answer.
Beyond the day job, I do academic research in my spare time, build data products for specific client needs — think a real-time economic conditions dashboard for a Norwegian private equity firm — and consult on customs valuation, trade compliance, and integrating agentic AI into business workflows.
