Economist & data engineer.
I build economic models and data systems for policy and business. Based in Paris.
I'm an economist born and raised in Mexicali, Mexico, based in France for the last five years, currently in Paris. I hold a Ph.D. in Economics from Universiteit Gent and Université de Lille. Currently, I am a Postdoctoral Researcher and Lead Data Scientist on the Data Frontiers project, where I lead the construction of a global dataset on enterprise cloud-based data flows. Previously, I was a Trade Policy Analyst at the OECD, leading research on services export competitiveness and trade policy uncertainty.
At a deeper level, I obsess over economic theory and how sound policy design can improve outcomes. Topics like macroeconomics, firm dynamics, heterogeneous agents, and equilibrium selection strongly influence my work. I believe in asking big questions, even when they're hard to answer.
Beyond academic research, I build data products for specific client needs — think a real-time economic conditions dashboard for a Swedish private equity firm — and consult on customs valuation, trade compliance, and integrating agentic AI into business workflows. If this sounds like something you'd like to collaborate on, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
